We deserve To Know what we Eat!

We deserve to know what we eat right. Well farmers genetically mutate their crops and
extract DNA from another organism and cross breed there plants to make them grow and make
them better and bigger. They are called GMOs (genetically mutated organisms). First scientists
find a new trait from another organism, once they find the gene/trait form another organism they
extract that certain gene form the specific organism. Its almost like a shot, they take one gene out
and put it in the tissue of the plant. After they have put the gene in the tissue of the plant they
plant the plant or seed in the ground, and what comes out is a GMO, We deserve to
know what we put into our bodies and what they put in our food. Farmers and major companies
paid for this bill/law called prop 37 not to pass which is a prop that declares the labeling of
GMOs and what was put in them.

To some people prop 37 or knowing what they eat doesnt matter. To others they would
like to know what they are eating. The choice is yours which one you want to be. All together
major companies paid 45 Million for the bill not to pass, why would they be willing to pay that
much money if they wouldnt want us to find out what they are putting in our foods? But to
defend the people who are in need GMOs help them tremendously. Or countries that run low on
food GMOs can help. Prop 37 fell short of passing 46.9% to 53.7%. I mean why be so sneaky

about not labeling them? Its our food? The UK, Australia, Japan and 24 other countries have
banned the use of Genetically Modified Organisms, due to the lack of long term studies and the
risk of our health.
The DNA in the organism needs to make protein to survive in a process called
protein synthesis, the DNA is in the nucleus of the cell, DNA has to transfer to RNA and
the process of it is called transcription. Now after the process of transcription it goes out
of the nucleus and goes into the rough ER or the ribosome and the ribosome has amino
acids essential for making proteins. The ribosome goes through a process of combining
the two called translation. And what the rough ER or the ribosome puts out is a chain of
proteins.
Yes GMOS could actually pose a human risk, according to Organic Valley a pig
was fed natural food without any other substance in it; the pig was healthier than even an
average pig. They tested the GMO food and they noticed that the pigs digestive system
was healthy and the pick got sick. And wasnt as healthy when it was fed normal food.
Who knows how the GMOS affect our bodies. According to The Huffington Post the
bacteria of the gene in GMOS could get with the bacteria in our digestive system and get
us sick.
We deserve to know what we eat and we deserve the right to labeling these
Genetically Modified Organisms. We deserve the right to decide whether we eat them or
not.
