Objectives:
To ensure that elementary level students are able to:
1. Understand the 1st conditional grammar structure.
2. Use the 1st conditional effectively in written and spoken
English.
3. Create real possibilities using the 1st conditional.

Anticipated problems for Teacher:

1. Time Management problems may occur due to a heavy lesson filled


with grammar, activities and quiz.
Solution: Adhering to the time limits for each stage and staying on task.
Anticipated problems for Students:

1. Ss may have problems with grasping an understanding of the


grammatical structure of the 1st conditional.
Solution: T will organise the grammatical structure in a chart with
many examples to help students understand.

Teacher Activity
T will write the word Real possibilities on the board.
T will ask Ss to think of any real possibilities that they may be interested in for themselves.
T will write a sample sentence on the board:
If it snows, I will stay inside.
Ss will use the model sentence to create their own possibilities.
Each Ss will be required to create one possibility.
T will play a game with the Ss. The game will be called Pass the ball. As the ball will be passed onto each Ss, they will be
required to say their possibility out to the class.
