A surface development facility is used for preparing the raw crude for refinery and is
composed of Crude separation, Flare area, Water treatment and filtration plant, Steam
generation, Utility area, Chemical injection area. My work is to carry out the design and
analysis of piping for Crude Separation system.
After the completion of modelling of the system in SmartPlant 3D pipe thickness
calculations, NPSH calculation, Identification of critical lines to carry out Caesar II analysis
will be done. The critical pipes identified will be analysed for Seismic, Wind, Wave,
Transportation and Vibration load cases. Flange and Nozzle leakage analysis will be done at
the final stage and the changes in the design are made to make sure the loads acting on the
system are under the given limits.
