Action:

Expand participation in: Leadership Programming

Tactic Year: 2015-16


Tactic: Encourage the development of stronger leadership identities within their
roles on the Student Activities Council by attending a leadership workshop or retreat
as a board requirement.
Success Criterion: Full board participation in a leadership workshop or retreat in
the 2015-16 academic year and higher levels of leadership identity.
Assessment Method: Completion of success criterion is assessment of the tactic,
as well as completion of reflection questions framed by the leadership identity
theory.
Assessment Method Type: Tactic is completed or not & pre-post reflection
questions.

Action:

Develop inventory of current efforts and identify gaps/needs

Tactic Year: 2015-16


Tactic: Develop a more campus-wide assessment of programming preferences of
greater student population through surveys & polls.
Success Criterion: Polls are created and used as a reference when proposing and
planning new events.
Assessment Method: Completion of success criterion is assessment of the tactic.
Assessment Method Type: Tactic is completed or not.

LEARNING
Outcome Name: Understanding and Managing Self
Outcome: Dimensions: develop and apply knowledge of self, including
personality, values, interests and aptitudes
Assessment Method Type: Observation and self-reflection through one-on-one
meetings with advisor, participation in leadership programs as a collective Student
Activities Council, and reported growth in leadership identity through pre-post
questions.
Criterion: Students will develop an understanding of what it means to be a
student leader and how they identify personally as a leader. They will also
determine the level to which they identify as a leader within their role on the
Student Activities Council through reflection and conversations with advisors, and
how to go about continuing that personal development.

Outcome Name: Succeeding as a Professional 2


Outcome: Dimensions: Develop and articulate competencies necessary to
succeed in ones chosen field.
Assessment Method Type: Students on the Student Activities Council will create
a resume, and then following a training session, will edit that resume to better
reflect their leadership roles and experiences
Criterion: The second resume created by the students will better highlight the
skills and competencies gained through their SAC and other RSO leadership
positions.

Outcome Name: CAS: Interpersonal Competence


Outcome: Dimensions: meaningful relationships; interdependence; collaboration;
and effective leadership
Assessment Method Type: Following successful participation of the Student
Activities Council Executive board in group bonding activities, SAC members will
reflect one-on-one with an advisor on their interpersonal growth within the SAC
board.

Criterion: Increase in trust, communication and comfort as a result of participation


in activities as a team outside mandatory meetings.
