Someone said to me once that music can be anything you want it to be.

Its like a box of

clay in which you can mold into any shape or form you wish to see. Especially the classic ones.
They usually dont have lyrics so it gives everyone the freedom to perceive what the sound
implicates. Its a free form of art.
Chopins 24 selected Etudes which were played by Rudolf Golez was an exquisite
performance. I heard some of Chopins pieces performed by other pianists (though not live) back
in our music class and I admit nothing can beat a performance played in front of your very own
eyes. It makes the sound from the piano alive, as if its breathing. Golezs version of the masters
Etudes was something to see, given the fact that he performed with such intensity and eagerness
that could put other pianists to shame. He played with an ease that every touch of the keys
produce a soft resonating sound that vibrates within the four-cornered walls of Luce auditorium.
Im not an expert in classical music especially on piano but the way he played gave off the vibe
of soothing and comforting music, everything that a classical music is and should be. Before, I
didnt have any idea what an etude is but now that I realized its some sort of routine exercises
that enhances the capability of pianists, I didnt expect that it would create a piano concerto that
can last for hours, almost similar to original piano compositions like Beethovens Sonata. The
audience was stunned into amazement, including me of course, as we requested for more. Even
though its not the most popular and preferable genre of music of teenagers compared to pop,
rock or reggae, teenagers and young adults still appreciates classical music because its soothing
and can move the hearts of people. And although it doesnt have lyrics, I think the listeners still
understand the message of the composer or the pianist because the melody itself speaks volumes.
I for one enjoyed hearing it because personally I think music doesnt need words to express
itself. It can reach and touch lives without a statement
