This Public Notice was published in the TIMES OF INDIA , and other National

Dailies today ( 20th February , 2015 ) in about 15 newspapers all over India .
The Public Notice is clear in that it states that Foreign Architects are not
permitted to deliver / offer architectural services in India / on Indian soil , unless
they have approval under Section 37 ,1 (b) of the Architects Act , 1972 , an
Indian Central ( Parliamentary Act ) .
Foreign Architects have often been delivering architectural services through
electronic means ( the Internet / fax / email etc ) . Such means are described as
Services delivered through Mode One . cross border supply .
( services supplied from one country to another (e.g. international telephone calls), officially
known as cross-border supply (in WTO jargon, mode 1) ) .

Some Foreign Architects have also set up illegal practices/ firms /


companies in India this issue is being dealt with in the Indian Courts of
Law , and various interim orders have already been issued on them .

Indian Architects are requested to be alert , and to sniff out


projects being done by Foreign Architects on Indian soil.
In many of these cases , the Indian Client could be an Indian Real Estate
Developer .
In many cases, Indian Architects have been illegally collaborating as a Local
Architect / Liaisons Architect / Signing Architect / Drawing Interpretation
Architect also .
It is requested that such cases ( where a Foreign Architect has designed / is
presently designing a building on Indian Soil without Central Govt.
Approval under the Act ) , be reported to afatrust1972@gmail.com .
Cases must contain the name of the Project , its postal address / location , the
name of the Foreign Architect / Foreign firm , some proof of the fact that a
Foriegn Architect is designing the building , and the name of the Indian
Architect who may be the Local architect / Laison Architect / Collaborating
Architect etc .
AFA shall examine the cases , and shall forward the relevant ones to the Council
of Architecture / Central Govt of India , and may also consider filing court cases /
misconduct cases as may be legally appropriate .
