    The greeks invaded India in 327BC


    A lot of Indias History was influenced by the Greeks
    It is widely believed that Mahabharat is a modified version of the Trojan war
    BACKSTORY
    Trojan
    - Fought between Greeks and Trojan
    - The war was in troy
    - Fought because Paris prince of troy abducted Helen, wife Meneleaus king of
    Sparta
    Mahabharat
    - Fought between Pandavs (Good side) and Kaurav (Bad side)
    - Fought in Kurukshetra
    - Founght because of undisputed land.
    Heroes
    Achillies(Greeks) vs Arjun (pandavs)
    Achillies vs Krishna (God)(pandavs)
    Similarities
    - Both wars were fought to get back what was rightfully theirs.
    Helen for king Menelaus and land for Pandavs. Also both wars were waged against a
    piece of property.
    - The actual conflict between Trojans and Greeks lasted for 14 days as described by
    homer in illiad
    The Mahabharat lasted for 14 days.
    - In Greek mythology its believed that anyone who dies in the battle field dies a hero.
    Kurukshetra, the land on which Mahabharat was fought was blessed so anybody who
    died on it, died as a hero and went to heaven.

    - Both Heroes, Arjun and Achillies were reluctant to fight at first but they both
    eventually do and cause a lot of damage to the other side. (both heroes fighting on
    side that wans to get back whats theres)
    - Achillies and Krishna both die by getting shot in the foot by an arrow.
    - The Mahabhart was fought in a way that it would stop at sunset and then resume
    again at sunrise. (This is weird)
    If we compare it carefully to the Trojan war well see that the Trojans were inside a
    fortified city and they would retreat to the fort in the evenings.
    - The Trojan king at that time was too old to stand and spectate the war so his
    minister would narrate the war to him.
    In Mahabharat, the king is blind and couldnt see the war, so his minister would
    narrate him the war too
    Differences
    - Trojan War was waged against Troy and fought in Troy
    Mahabharat was waged against unknown piece of land and was fought in Kurukshetra
    - Krishna was a God and Achillies wasnt.
    - In Mahabharat there is no portrayal of the Trojan horse in any sort.

    - Trojan war was simply a war. Mahabharat was a fight between Good and Bad
