New Student Observation Schedule Pre-Kindergarten

Yellow Group (P-100): Baars, Caram, Dorrell, Vu


Green Group (P-101): Pruet, Boganwright, Maxwell, Mann
Blue Group (P-106): Keenan, Acomb, Meyer, Nash
Floaters: Sen, Asselin, McCurry
The Pre-Kindergarten observation will last from 8:00-10:00.
8:00-8:15 (Approximately 15 minutes): Walk students to class. Introduce teachers. Have
students sit on the carpet. One teacher reads a story and asks questions. Other teachers take
notes regarding students behavior and answers.
8:15-9:15 Centers and small groups
Students should be assigned to specific centers and rotate every 15 minutes (1 hour total)
Blocks teacher observes and interacts
Dramatic Play teacher observes and interacts
Model Magic teacher directed
Self Portrait teacher directed
Yellow
Baars observes and plays with students at centers
Dorrell Model Magic
Caram Self Portrait and reads story
Vu - observes and plays with students at centers
Green
Boganwright observes and plays with students at centers
Maxwell - Model Magic and reads story
Pruet self portrait
Mann observes and plays with students at centers
Blue
Meyer self portrait and reads story
Acomb - observes and plays with students at centers
Keenan Model Magic
Nash - observes and plays with students at centers
9:20-9:50 Recess on the playground
One or two teachers from each group should play with the students. Two teachers from
each group should observe and take notes.
9:50-10:00 One teacher reads story. Other teachers finish up notes.
10:00 Return students to their parents
