Illustrated below in Figure 33 is a typical automatic valve control system. In this case the
valve is a Level Control Valve LCV.

When the level controller senses a change in level, a signal is sent to the Valve
Actuator on the outlet of the vessel.
If the level drops too much, the valve will close. If the level in the vessel increases too
much, the valve will automatically open. In this way the volume of liquid in the Vessel
is automatically maintained at the correct level.
