AISD provides charter bus transportation for all groups performing in this event. Below are details
regarding time lines and transportation for groups performing in this contest. Please check all details for
your ensemble and prepare accordingly. Please do not fail to share this document with parents.

Orchestra UIL Contest day 1 Wednesday 3/4

Concert Orchestra
Concert Orchestra members will need to arrive at Kealing MS dressed in uniform with instruments,
and music. Concert members will report to the orchestra room during their A4 class at 2PM. Students
should bring a generous snack and non-caffeinated beverage of choice for afterschool as this is going to be
a long day. We will be loading busses and will depart by 2:40PM for the AISD PAC. Students of this
orchestra will return to Kealing MS at or before 7PM. Parents not attending the event should plan on being
in place for pick up by 6:45PM. Parents attending the performance are welcome to take kids home from
the venue. Directors ask that parents doing this check out with a director so we dont worry about missing
personnel on the return
Orchestra UIL Contest day 2 Thursday 3/5
Philharmonic Orchestra
Philharmonic Orchestra members will need to arrive at Kealing MS dressed in uniform with
instruments, music, and any accessories needed to perform at the start of the school day. Students need to
leave early from their B8 class and report to the Orchestra room at 2PM. We will be loading busses and
leave Kealing by 2:40PM. Students should bring a generous snack and non-caffeinated beverage of choice
for afterschool as this is going to be a long day. We do have a charter bus that will be taking us back to
Kealing but it will not return until 9PM. It is STRONGLY RECCOMENDED that parents plan on picking
up/carpool students from the AISD PAC by 6PM. If you cannot be picked up at the AISD PAC please let a
director know ASAP.
Orchestra UIL Contest day 3 Friday 3/6
Symphony String Orchestra
Symphony String Orchestra members will need appropriate uniform, instrument, music, and
accessories on Friday 3/6. Symphony members should check in with their 4 th period teacher and report to
the orchestra room at 2:15 PM. We depart for the AISD PAC at 3:30PM. It is strongly recommended that
Symphony members bring a generous snack for afterschool and a non-caffeinated beverage of choice given
the long day. Transportation back to KMS is due to arrive back by 6:45. It is recommended that parents
not in attendance plan on being at KMS by 6:30 PM for pick up. Following the contest performances,
parents in attendance may take students home directly but please check out with a Director prior to leaving
so we know who has gone home.
All parents are encouraged to come out and support the orchestras in their contest endeavors. You are even welcome to check out the
sight reading. Showing up early and/or staying late to watch other groups is often an eye opening experience that might put our
efforts with this program into perspective. PARENTS IN ATTENDENCE MAY NOT RECORD, FILM, OR TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS
AT A UIL EVENT. THERE ARE PROFESSIONAL RECORDINGS BEING MADE AND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS
THAT MAY BE PURCHASED AT THE EVENT. Thanks for your understanding.
