Womans Dishonor
Thousands of women die each year
due to honor killings according to the
Honor Based Violence Awareness
Network, and most of them are not
even reported things like decapitation
and stoning women is seen as a
normal concept, or the governments
do not care. Which is why honor
killings are increasing each year and
are not being help to prevent, but
being supported by the communities
and people who help kill or mutilate
there family or friends for many unjust
reasons. However, women's advocacy
groups believe the crime is
underreported and that the actual
death toll from this all too common
crime is actually much
higher(Erdman). Which is why honor
killing women lead to unnecessary
deaths and violence.

Worldwide women
sacrifice
Women all over the globe are being
killed for purposes such as honor, or
abused for being inferior or being
accused of dishonoring the family.
Which is not really head of in the
United States, but is happening allot in
places like Pakistan and India. Also in
Jordan, Morocco, Italy and Israel which
are mostly in the Middle East
According to national Geographics
Thousands of women killed for family
Honor. In areas where the culture is
being used mostly as a way of
justifying their actions. Which is why

this is not heard of in the United

States, where there are strict laws
against any type of killing or abusive
nature which is faced with
punishment. Also because in the
United States we believe that both
men, women, and people of other
faiths are equal. According to CNN
Such killings often originate from
tribal traditions in Pakistan and usually
happen in rural areas. Human rights
activists said bystanders, including
police, don't often interfere because
the killings are considered to be family
matters (Erdman).
Women in all age groups are being
affected, in ways of honor killings or
mutilation such as Aisha Ibrahim
Duhulow at the age of 13, for
reporting to the authorities that she
was raped and then was accused for
committing adultery. Also this is why
women of all age groups are silenced
in a way they cannot refuse. Which
seems unfair because she was only
thirteen years old and was violated in

such a manner, but had the courage

the many women much less children
dont have and was punished even
further. Sajjad Ahmed, 26, and

18, were married by a Pakistani court

on June 18 against the wishes of the
Bibi family, Punjab police official
Mohammad Ahsanullah told CNN. On
Thursday, the bride's father and
uncles lured the couple back to the
village of Satrah in Punjab province,
where Ahsanullah said the pair were
tied up and then decapitated
(Erdman).

The Governments
Help
Women all over the world are slowly
being helped with supporting
organizations and laws being passed
on, so that it is more just and they can
have a somewhat fair chance of being
helped. The Elimination of Violence
against women law is just one of the
laws that is helping. In many parts of
the country, government officials are
implementing the Elimination of
Violence against Women (EVAW) law,
but we are concerned that it is only in
a small percentage of cases involving
violence against women (Kabul). There
arent many laws helping support and
protect the woman in these countries.
What they should start to do is they
should try and seek help from other
nations such as the United States in a
way that would not lead to war but
annoy them or break away at their
economy as the United States Imports
more than it exports.

Do Men Die?

Men are not directly affected as they

are the ones doing the harming and
are glorified for such actions.
"Perpetrators may even be treated
with admiration and given special
status within their communities"
(NBC). This shows that the men for
doing wrong are glorified and that
everything is inferior to them.
Whereas other areas this would be a
planned murder this is a "cultural"
Trait and the men aren't punished.

Also why many females in living in

these areas do not speak out and do
not fight for their freedom or their
rights and why this keeps on
happening and is increasing.
Do you think you could make an
impact? Would you be willing to help
the people who are be dehumanized
for no cause at all? Put yourself in a
child or adult in this situation what
would you do? Would you be brave
enough to reach out for help or stay
quiet like everyone else? And not take

the chance of freedom but afraid of

being killed?
