TEACHING:
Motivation:
Problem Statement: Hey who likes to play games? Well today instead of doing boring desk work
we well be creating a game. Sounds fun right? Well let me explain. Since we have been learning
about multiplication these last few weeks and locomotor skills in your P.E. class we are going to
be combining them both to create a fun game. This way we can master both subjects in one
assignment. So you will be creating a game using the powerpoint software on the computer with
these two subjects. You wont be doing this assignment individually you will be working as a

team. Since there are 25 students in this class we will have 5 groups of 5. After you create your
game using powerpoint you will present it in front of the class and actually play it.
Teacher Procedures:
Prior to the Computer
1. Will explain project and go over all directions.
2. Will hand out article Locomotor Skills, field
evaluation report sheet, Brainstorming sheet,
and reflection sheet.
3. Will divide students into groups.

At the Computer
1. Walking over to groups to offer help.
2. Answering questions.
3. Monitoring students progress
4. Make sure everyone is on task.
5.
After the Computer
1.
Ask questions.
2.
Monitor game presentations

Student Procedures:
1. Work with team and brainstorm ideas and
write them down.
2. Read through math textbook and article on
locomotor skills.
3. Come up with ideas about the game they will
be creating and assign jobs to group members
for the project.
4.
1. Browse internet explorer for games and
articles that relate to project.
2. Create project and print out anything related
to the project.

1. Swap evaluation reports with other group

members and fill them out.
2. Present game and play game.
3. Complete reflection sheet.
4. Student will also complete handout on
locomotor skills and multiplication worksheet.

Reflection & Transfer:

We will have open discussion after the assignment and everyone will discuss their thoughts about
the project and use of integrating technology. We will also talk about integrating technology into
future assignments. We will also discuss how we can apply the skills used for this project into
future assignments.
