SAROD 2015 is being organized by Vikram Sarabhai Space
Centre (VSSC) & Indian Institute of Space Science and
Technology (IIST) under the aegis of Trust for Advancement of.
‘Aerodynamics in India (TAA). The one day Workshop on
“Dynamic Stabilty of Aerospace Vehicles’ is also jointly
‘organized by VSSC & IIST.
SSC is the leading ISRO centre specializing in design &
development of launch vehicle systems for the Indian space
programmes. Critical technologies for aerodynamics, avionics,
control system, propulsion, metalic & composite strcture and
special chemicals for ascent launch vehicles & re-entry vehicles
are developed by VSSC. The centre has been in the forefront in
the suceesful launch of GSLV, with indigenous cryo stage,
atmoshpheric fight of LVM3, the developmental of critical
technology and launching of Mars Orbitor and crew module of
human spacecraftIISTis Asia's frst Space Insitute. It offers a range of underaraduate,
post graduate and doctoral programmes with specific focus on
‘Space scienoe, technology and applications. The institute was
established in 2007 and in 2008 received the recognition of UGC as
‘Deemed to be University’ under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. The
Institute has the unique mandate of encouraging and equipping
promising youngsters from all pats ofthe country to take up 2 career

Tocated in the southwestem fp of India, Thiruvananthapuram is
bound by the Arabian Sea in the west and Tamil Nadu in the east.
Named after Anantha Padmanabha or Lord Vishnu, the city is
home to many ancient temples. But the landmark is the Sree
Padmanabha Swamy Temple around which the city hes been built
‘on seven low hills. A long shoreline with internationally renowned
beaches, historic monuments, backwater stretches and a rich
cultural heritage make this district a much sought-after tourist
destination. Clean and green, Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of
Kerala is one of the most beautful cities in the country.
m
The cultural background of Thiruvananthapuram originates from
the efforts ofthe rulers of erstwhile Travancore, who took an active
interest in the development of arts and culture.
TThirwvananthapuram has produced several great artists, the most
famous ones being Maharaja Swathi Thiunl, trayimman Thampi
and Raja Ravi Varma.
The city has a climate that borders between a tropical savanna
climate and a tropical monsoon climate. As a result it does not
experience distinct seasons. December, January and February are
the coldest months while March, April and May are the hottest.
‘The general cuisine of the people is Keralite cuisine, which is
characterized by an abundance of coconut and spices. Other South
Indian cuisines, as well as Chinese and North Indian cuisines are
Popular.
