SUMMARY
I am passionate to use my business and scientific savvy to develop and implement
society-altering solutions that leverage the life sciences and healthcare. I enjoy
fusing possibilities with the practical development of high-impact business cases,
thereby building significant and long-lasting value. I have broad, deep, Fortune 500
and startup, healthcare (medical device and pharmaceutical) and life science
experience in Technology Scouting, Licensing, Acquisitions, Operations, Research,
and Product Development. I have additional value-added skills in:
Alliances
Contract Negotiation

Healthcare Trends
Human Diagnostics

Project Management
Lean Operations

HIGHLIGHTED CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS

Technology Assessment/ Strategy Development - I co-founded the
nanotechnology initiative, which led to the Veritor rapid diagnostic point-of-care
instrument and reagent system, selling more than $100 million per year. I
developed and nurtured the business relationship, including technology transfer.
Strategic Partnerships - I played a key role in drafting, negotiating and
establishing the framework and intellectual property provisions for a 10-party,
international academic-industry alliance that has been in existence since 2005 and
raised more than $30 million. I also helped negotiate a $1+ million deal with a top
pharmaceutical company to use life science tools to improve R&D productivity.
Technology Acquisitions and Licensing I was responsible for the in-depth
understanding of more than 40 active licenses; in so doing, I identified greater than
$1 million in immediate royalty savings and a life-time savings of approximately
$10 million, while managing the Abbott diagnostic multi-million dollar royalty
budget. I also wrote and negotiated licenses on behalf of the licensee and licensor;
I have significant experience with both academic and commercial deals. Finally, I
led the technical due diligence of a $100+ million diagnostic candidate, working in
partnership with the assistant GC, and led the divestiture of a $1+ million business.

prototype which improved the sensitivity and ease-of-use of molecular
diagnostic, next generation sequencing technologies to identify
microorganisms in blood. Reduced time to identify from 5 days to 18 hours.
- Data supported a 4-fold program expansion.
Adapted a technology to concentrate microorganisms from biological and nonbiological fluids that resulted in a full PCT patent application, with me being the
