Last Thanksgiving SHUP supported Temple Adventist de

Brockton (Brockton Temple SDA) in their annual community
dinner. A tradition that SHUP takes part in; the church opens
its doors to the community where the less fortunate, those in
the city of Brockton, and church members can eat and be
thankful. This year over 150 people sat and ate together
during the holiday and SHUP was happy to participate.

This past fall leading up to the Massachusetts election, SHUP

supported the ballot initiative for earned sick time. We helped
the Coalition for Social Justice (pictured above) and the
Brockton Interfaith Organization in phone banking and
canvassing. We were part of 200+ organizations statewide that
joined the Raise Up Massachusetts campaign. In the Haitian
community many people are effected by lack of paid sick leave.
July 2015 companies with 11+ employees will have to grant up
to 40 hours of paid sick leave annually to their workers.
Question 4 passed in elections and SHUP was glad to help!
