Portfolio Assignment Outline

MBF3C Foundations for College Mathematics


In this course, you will be completing various individual sections of the portfolio which
are assignments that will intertwine and combine into one portfolio that will be submitted at the
end of the course for evaluation. Each individual section will be assigned throughout the course
and handed back with a grade. Based on the feedback, you can make improvements to your
section for final submission. YOU MUST IMPROVE AT LEAST ONE SECTION. You will
have an opportunity to improve your grade at the end of the semester with a final submission of
your entire portfolio.
Individual Sections:
There are 5 sections to this portfolio assignment which have multiple parts. Each section
themselves are worth different percentages. The sections and their percentage are as follows:
Profile Section 1: Career and Canadian Demographics
2%
Profile Section 2: Determining Post-Secondary Finances
3%
Profile Section 3: Choosing Financial Services
7%
Profile Section 4: Owning and Operating a Vehicle
7%
Profile Section 5: Design Project and Pitch
6%
FINAL SUBMISSION: All Sections
5%
TOTAL 30%
Final Submission:
When the course is coming to an end, you will submit all section components in one single
profile form. As indicated by yourself, you can ask for specific sections to be re-evaluated. You
will be submitting your portfolio in a creative and professional manner. For example you can
submit it as a website (e.g. weebly) or an actual portfolio binder with table of contents, etc. You
will be assessed for professionalism and effort, as well for any additional re-evaluation of
sections.
Your final submission of your portfolio is worth 5% of your mark but the entire portfolio
assignment is worth 30% of your final mark.
