Q1.
Ten friends went to eat pizza. They ordered a large, a medium and a small pizza.
The large pizza has 9 slices, medium has 6 and small has 4.
What is the probability that a person will have a slice from each pizza?
ANS=============================================================================
====================
As a person has a single slice from each pizza,That particular person can not ha
ve more then one slice from each pizza , and as order does not matter
for the identical items then ;
Large Pizza; 1st Slice(10 possibilities),2nd Slice(9 possibilities),3rd Slice(9
),4th(9),5th (9),6th (9),7th (9),8th (9),9th (9)
=10*9*9*9*9*9*9*9*9=10*((9)^8)=430467210
Medium Pizza; 1st(10),2nd(9),3rd(9),4th(9),5th(9),6th(9)
=10*((9)^5)=590490
small Pizza; 1st(10),2nd(9),3rd(9),4th(9)
=10*((9)^3)=7290
=>430467210*590490*7290=1.85*10^18
total possibilities=
large=10^9
medium=10^6=
small=10^4=
SS Sample sets=>10^19
now dividing

(1.85*10^18)/(10^19)=0.185 ANS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Q2.
15 students applied for 2 different scholarships. First scholarship will be give
n to 5 students and second scholarship will be given to 7 students.
A student might get both scholarships.
a) What is the probability that a student gets the first scholarship?
b) What is the probability that a student gets the second scholarship?
c) What is the probability that a student gets both the scholarships?
ANS=============================================================================
=====================
a)First scholarship
5/15= 1/3=
0.3333
b)Second scholarship(one scholarship per person)
7/15= 0.46667
c)(5/15)*(7/15)=0.155554
