I do not have any idea

how to succeed in the
class

The three most important things are to understand

a) why you are computing a number, i.e.,
understanding the business(drawing pictures,
understanding the manufacturing process)
b) how to compute the number and present it
meaningfully (the excel spreadsheets address
this task), and,
c) what it means (what to do with the number)
P 4-22: understanding that for as seasonal business,
Using a quarterly volume based normal cost plus markup
may be exactly the wrong thing to do unless the normal
cost is computed annually! and
Understanding that using cost-based pricing may not be the
wisest strategy for a seasonal business!

We are in week three of our class, and I still

don't feel that our professor has a handle on
how we will be taught the curriculum.
Our first week was spent doing mostly
administrative discussions on how we will
carry out our "course plan".
There is no curriculum, I do not teach. I help

you learn!!
The first three days were spent showing you
how much you know
that I expect you to use it

The second week was spent over-analyzing a

single textbook exercise, and beat an excel
sheet to death.
Our days recently have been spent
The
last two days
were
spent
drillingexample,
deep
pontificating
on one
other
textbook
into computations, demonstrating how
shallow and fragile many students
understanding of the business problems is,
and remediating that deficiency. Plus
showing you how to use Excel for information
analysis and information display: skills that
your UWB education thus far may have underemphasized.

using up more than our 2-hour lectures

continuing onto another lecture's time.
I find little relevance, nor do I see the point
in how the lectures are being taught

Its called a D _ _ R
Relevance to what?
I do not lecture
Can a lecture be taught?
