Students will explore and interpret graphs of quadratic relations.
Students will consolidate their mathematical skills as they solve
problems and communicate their thinking.

Culminating Activity
The culminating activity is a 5-period experiment involving the use of the TI-83/84
calculator where different bouncing balls will be tested and their graphs plotted. Different
characteristics will be extracted from these graphs.

Rationale for Unit / Special Considerations


There are many real life phenomena that display a quadratic relation behaviour, so
understanding quadratic relations and being able to extract important information from
them is important.
