Personal Statement
I have always had an interest in the human body and caring for people and therefor I
sought an education route that would allow me to integrate both into a career. I graduated with
Cum Laude honors from the University of Northern Colorado with my Bachelor of Science in
Sports and Exercise Science and I will be graduating with my Masters of Science degree in
Occupational Therapy (OT) from Touro University Nevada this June. I have a strong desire to
accomplish my life goals and have found success throughout my education through dedication
and hard work. I continue to enjoy working with people and I thrive in team or group situations. I
also have always have had deep compassion for people and the unique ability to listen to an
individuals concerns.
Mission and/or Vision Statement
I envision my life surrounded by the everlasting presence of God, family, friends, love,
safety, compassion, adventure, laughter, tears, challenges, and successes. I will strive to live a
healthy lifestyle by eating right, sleeping well, and exercising daily. I promise to never lose sight
of the things that are truly important to me including my relationship with God, my family and
friends, spending time outdoors, and staying active! I will continue to have a positive outlook on
life, think the best of people, connect easily with others, take responsibility for myself and
maintain balance in my life. I shall not be easily overwhelmed and continue to have faith that
things will work themselves out. I recognize my life plan is not my own, and that God has a
greater plan for me yet. I know without a doubt I would not be able to achieve my goals in life
without the constant support of my family and friends. I strive to be a person of integrity, loyalty,
benevolence and reliability. Within my professional life I will commit myself to provide each

client with the individual attention they deserve. I will do my best to provide meaningful, clientcentered, evidenced-based and occupation-based interventions. I will also continually advocate
for my profession within the workplace and community to ensure everyone I encounter has a
clear picture of what occupational therapy is.
Strengths
I can easily fit into any type of group work and get along effortlessly with a variety of
personalities. I am dedicated to my work and always strive to do my best. I am a dependable,
timely, reliable person. I have the ability to think on my feet and adapt quickly in a variety of
situations. I also have an optimistic outlook on life and all situations and therefor can find the
bright side in all situations.
Growth Needs
I need to continue to grow in my leadership skills and seek opportunities to grow as
leader. I also need to continue to increase my confidence within myself and trust in own
understanding and knowledge. I have devoted myself to my studies and just need to increase my
level of confidence in demonstrating my skills set.
Leadership Model and/or Style Selected
I am best described as a servant leaders, I do not seek out the traditional leadership roles
and instead work for the well-being of others. I put others needs ahead of myself and seek to
work alongside others to best benefit everyone. I believe this type of leadership encompasses two
great philosophies in which I strive to achieve; leadership and social justice.
