The Nebraskan Frontier

By Chris Kotschwar
In the southern plains of the Nebraskan Frontier,
As the farmers begin to tillage forty acres of farmland,
As sun starts to set with a glare on a nearby lake,
And the children are all heading in for the night,
Puffy grey marshmallows in the sky start to form,
And consequently with the marshmallows formed little pebbles of
frost started sprinkling down,
The doves stop their cooing in aw,
As all of the events are happening the catfish begin to jump,
From the pond next to an old farm house,
Lays an old cat with only 2 legs in the back and 1 in the front,
With the name Betty she doesnt mind the rain,
Her best friend is a cow named Margret,
All of this in the southern plains of the Nebraskan Frontier.
