Big Question For Tonights Vote On Right-To-Work Compromise

Will Democrats Vote Down Two Policies That A Vast Majority Of New Mexicans
Support?
Santa Fe, NM Tonight, the House of Representatives will vote on a right-to-work
compromise that will also increase the states minimum wage to $8 per hour, the
third highest in the region. Recent polls from the Albuquerque Journal show that 60
percent of New Mexicans support passing right to work and 70 percent of want to
increase the minimum wage. This includes support from Republicans, Democrats
and Independents.
But a big question looms: Will House Democrats vote against the will of the people?
House Democrats have two choices: They can listen to the people of New Mexico.
Or they can go down the path of Washington politicians who choose gridlock and
dysfunction over common-sense compromise, said Patrick Garrett, a spokesman for
the House Majority. We hope they can put politics aside and stand with the vast
majority of New Mexicans.
