    Legislation To Crack Down On Firearm Theft Passes House Committee

    Santa Fe, NM- This week the House of Representative passed HB 119; adding one
    more year to the prison sentence of a felon who steals a firearm. This passed the
    House on a bipartisan 45-10 vote.
    We know most convicted felons obtain a firearm by theft this adds an additional
    year to the sentence, said Representative Bill Rehm.
    It is the hope of Representative Rehm that felons who are committing burglary
    will stop stealing firearms.
