The Bibliographies of The Mists of Avalon

D'Ammassa, Don. "Bradley, Marion Zimmer." Encyclopedia of Fantasy and Horror Fiction.
New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature. Facts On File, Inc. Web. 28 Oct. 2014.

The Encyclopedia of Fantasy and Horror Fiction offer a simple and straight-forward
approach to the life of Marion Zimmer Bradley, providing the title of all her works as well as a
short description for each. This entry offers the reader a general rating of which books would be
right for which people and which were more popular.
This article is an excellent source for a simple summary and recommendations for
Bradleys books. It is easy to read and understand as well as to the point. There is no need to
wade through unneeded information to decide which of her books to read.

"Dutch MEP jets into Britain and declares Islam 'a bad religion'." Evening Standard [London,
England] 16 Oct. 2009: 2. Global Issues In Context. Web. 13 Nov. 2014.

A short summary of the events of the 16 of October, 2009 is provided in this article. A
member of the British Government declared his opinion of Christianity being superior to Islam. A
few quotes are provided in both offense and defense of the situation, but the article is mostly
context.

This article provides a view of the current events related to equality in religion and how
the general public reacts to those who threaten that equality. It is a quick read and doesnt waste
any time on unneeded details. It is direct and to the point.

Ostman, Heather. "The Mists of Avalon." In Werlock, Abby H. P., ed. The Facts On File
Companion to the American Novel. New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature.
Facts On File, Inc. Web. 13 Nov. 2014

This source is an excellent and precise summary of the plot and characters of The Mists
of Avalon. Every character, subplot and conflict is explained and dissected. A bit of a heavier
read.
Although it is an excellent summary, it is just that: a summary. If you plan on reading the
book, this article is not the best one to read as it gives away all the twists and turns of the story. If
you were simply looking for a good plot and character summary of this entire book, then this
would be a good article to read.

Snodgrass, Mary Ellen. "Bradley, Marion Zimmer." Encyclopedia of Feminist Literature.

New York: Facts On File, Inc., 2006. Bloom's Literature. Facts On File, Inc.
Web. 13 Nov. 2014

As one might tell from the title, this article focuses a good percentage on
Bradleys influence on feminism and such related topics. However, it also tells
some of the activities and hobbies of Bradley, letting the reader take a look
into the actual person instead of just the events of her life.
The reader is provided with a more interesting summary of the life of Bradley
than what might be expected with the usual biography. The article reads more

like a story than a history lesson and relates to many other topics that her
books touched and affected. This would be a good choice for anyone looking
to find out about the person and anyone particularly interested in womens
rights and such.

"Teach Gender Equality Early [column]." Africa News Service 11 Jan. 2013. Global
Issues In Context. Web. 13 Nov. 2014

This article provides an interesting opinion on how to improve gender equality in the
coming generations. The author proposes that children need to be taught early on that women are
as good as men. They also provide an explanation of what gender equality is and why it is
important that it be taught to everyone around the world.
The author has a persuasive tone towards their topic and shares their thoughts very
openly. They provide an interesting view on gender equality and a most likely very effective way
to spread it around the world to everyone, young and old. This is a very good read for someone
looking to learn more about gender equality, its effects, and why it needs to be practiced.

not chronological, it is written in a way that makes sense and provides a decent
amount of information to the readers.

Gurtner 4
The author writes in an easy to read manner while still giving a lot of information to the
reader in a short amount of time. A good summary of the main points in Bradleys life and all of
the works she created in that time.
