I. Napoleon brought much glory to France with his foreign policies:

a. He achieved much military success internationally, which reinstated
France as a major military power after years of dormancy of the French
Revolution,
b. He reestablished France as a strong economic power after much
economic instability in France through the means of the Continental
system, etc.
c. Napoleon also established France as a major political power, and it had
much effect on the important matters of the continent.
I. Napoleon’s military success:
a. Battle of Austerlitz, defeats the 3rd coalition single-handedly and
Austria is forced to sue for peace, while Russia backs off.
b. The battle of Jena and Auerstedt between Prussia and France results in
French victory and Prussia retreats from anti-French coalitions until
1813.
c. All of these military successes within the European continent brought
glory to France because France reinstated the might of the French
military after years of dormancy during the French revolution.
I. Napoleon’s economic success:
a. Napoleon tried to close off all trade to Britain from the European
continent. Although this fails, he is still able to oversee most of the
trades that are going from the European continent to other places.
1. Also proved that the France (and the continent) was not dependant
on Britain to survive economically.
a. Military success meant he also gained much money from conquered
lands, which led to the increase of the economical strength of France.

a. Napoleon was able to gain much political power through the victories
he had over many other countries.

geography were shaped by France and Napoleon.
