UNIT 4: Business Lives

Criterion A:

Inquiring and analyzing

<Introduction>
I am going to make an itinerary for Mr. Deepika. She is my English teacher. The reason why
I make an itinerary for her is because I wondered the country that she wants to go and how to be
good journey in that country. So I will interview with her and make itinerary and brochure.

<Inquiry Questions>
1. How can I use functions on spreadsheets?
You can use functions on spreadsheets when you need to count and sum. You also can use
functions such as formula on spreadsheets. There are many functions on spreadsheets like
date & time, lookup & reference, financial and statistical.

2. What is the difference between formula and function on a spreadsheet?

A formula is an expression written by user to be calculated. Users have to write a formula.
All formulas must start with the equal sign like =1+2. On the other hand, a function to sum
value and to calculate number is built into spreadsheet. Functions are typed next to
parenthesizes. When you want to sum 1 and 2 to use a function on spreadsheet, you can do
like this. =SUM(1+2)

3. How are spreadsheets useful in the business world?

Most of companies are using spreadsheets now. First, spreadsheets are used to make
statistics of product sales data on a daily, weekly or monthly. They can improve to check the
data. Second, it is used to make schedule. It can include calculations automatically, also update
when new data is added.

When do you need to make a decision, spreadsheets help you to find the best choice.

About one topic that have to make a decision, enter up values you consider important and rank
them. For example, you want to buy something necessity, inexpensive, nice, and proper. Then
enter up items of being possible and score each value. The spreadsheet will automatically
calculate scores and show the best choice.

5. How can spreadsheets help with planning?

Spreadsheets help to plan meeting, journey, money, and so on. We can also make
daily schedule and timetable to use spreadsheets. Spreadsheets can count date and
time automatically for meeting. And they can sum and multiple for money planning. Like
these ways, many people can use spreadsheets for planning.

6. What is an itinerary?
When we travel somewhere, the thing is that we need. It means plan of route or

<Evaluation>
This unit was new and challenge to me. To interview someone, making a
spreadsheet and using thinklink are hard, but I managed at last. I will improve to make
spreadsheets because it took a long time to arrange activities. Also, I need to make
interview questions more specifically. I only asked basic questions, so it was difficult to
make itinerary. And I will improve researching skills and on-time management. This project
was new to me, but if I started to make this fast, I might have done on time. So, from now
on I will do project on time. Anyway, These 4 improvements would make my products
better. If we do this project next time, my product will be much better than this.
