Position Paper: Eradicate Global Hunger

Issue: "What can we (as a united faction) do to eradicate global hunger?"

1. What is the current status of the Issue in your country

In every age and every country, individuals require food to function. As food is
limited resources, this then give rise to problems regarding people who do not have
enough food to be healthy, it is defined as hunger. Furthermore, hunger can prove
to be harmful to health, even more than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined.
It is said that every one of every nine people will suffered from hunger, and
approximately about 805 million people suffered from such unnourished life styles.
Among the number, lies the Colombias residence.

According to the world fact book of CIA, Colombia were ranked 108th, being the
country with high numbers of having children underweight. Such children are the
future of this country but they do not lead a healthy lifestyle. One of the causes of
this is the fact that most Colombian is a developing country. Most of the citizens
lack money and cannot buy the nutrients needed to remain healthy. 32% of
Colombians live in poverty and since 2002-2012, the number of the poor increased
3.5 times in the span of ten years. Colombia is a countries rich in Biodiversity.
Nevertheless, most of the citizens lack education an resources to utilize such
environment in their favor. Furthermore, due to the weak government, its institution
inflence few and cannot guarantee human rights or administer justice thoroughly.

Studies also showed that hunger or malnutrition caused the countrys individual
regress in abilities. WFP indicated that this greatly affect their economic as their
finding suggested that malnutrition made the country lost $250 and $400 every
year. As such, it lost it GDP around 1.5 2.5% and The Asian Development Bank
(ADB) approximate that Colombia loses over $134 million in GPD per year to
nutrients alone.

2. What is your countrys stand on this Issue?

As stated above, hunger or malnutrition is even larger of a problem than AIDS,

malaria and tuberculosis combined. Nevertheless, lay people regard this as some
tiny problems. As such, we wanted to engage this by cooperating with an
international organization committee for education such as UN. Preferably by
sending their stuffs into the countries then distribute them into different areas for
education about using the resources they have to gain opportunities. Then, we can
cooperate with multimedia enterprises like Google to distribute the information of
how dangerous hunger can be. Since their forte is multimedia, they can use the
internet to distribute propagandas in forms of websites, infographics or even create
a campaign for it. As for funds, we can ask for websites that do donation, the good

the word can donate and we can increase the donation by propaganda done by
multimedia enterprises as well. We believe it would be the best of interest for the
countries of the world to incorporate this issue and came up with ideas to negate
the topic. For this will not only help our country, but everyone who are suffering
from hunger.

3. Explain the reason/s for the stand.

Our citizens are hungry. They suffered from lack of nutrients and live that is not
productive both to themselves and others. To think that there are more people who
are affected by this, is the reason for us to engage in any various actions that can
solve this problems. Furthermore, the help from other countries and abilities will
help solve this problem faster. For that reason, we should be working together, as
human being help one another.
