In December, I graduated from Drexel University with a Masters of Science degree in
Teaching Learning & Curriculum Instruction. Im scheduled to take the GACE 001 and
002 testing in April, 2015 and would appreciate consideration for a fall 2015 teaching
position in the area of PreK-5.
I enjoy every aspect of teaching and working with students. During my two student
placements at The Odyssey School in Coweta County, I gained experience working in an
elementary school setting. In addition to developing and implementing lesson plans I
have also designed and implemented behavior modification plans and academic
remediation plans for individual students. Recognizing the importance of ongoing
communication with parents, my plans are to write and distribute weekly classroom
newsletters, complete regular student progress reports, and plan communications with
parents by phone and e-mail. With the support of my cooperating teachers, I facilitated
cooperative learning, and became knowledgeable of the Georgia Common Core State
Standards and the National Common Core Standards.
Prior to student teaching, I had the opportunity to gain considerable experience working
with children and youths as a substitute teacher. At Drexel University, I had the
opportunity to learn from top-notch faculty as well as work online cooperatively with
other Drexel students, utilizing Blackboard to facilitate learning.
