Method Statement

A.) TREATMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION JOINT WITH SpECbuild SG 15


POLYMER MODIFIED REPAIR COMPOUND
1.

Cut a V grove along the constriction joints approx. 20 x 20mm.

2.

Clean and prepare the surface thoroughly to remove dust etc.

3.

Wet and saturate the concrete with water and allow the surface to partly dry so
that it is damp.

4.

Apply SpECbuild Primer S 1 by brush after removing any standing water.

5.

Once the primer becomes tacky, apply SpECbuild SG 15 mixed with correct
amount of water with a gloved hand to ensure thorough compaction and finish
with steel trowel.

6.

Cure with water.

B.) WATERPROOFING FOR SWIMMING POOL WITH SpECtite CW100 FLEXIBLE


CEMENTITIOUS WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

Wire brush and remove all loose material and prepare the surface to receive the
waterproofing.

8.

Wet the concrete and allow the surface to partly dry so that it is damp.

9.

Apply 1st coat of SpECtite CW 100 2-part flexible cementitious waterproof


membrane by brush in one direction at wet film thickness of 0.75 1.0mm on
the floor and wall. Allow to dry for minimum 3 hrs.

10.

Apply 2nd coat of SpECtite CW 100 flexible cementitious waterproof membrane


by brush in one direction at wet film thickness of 0.75 1.0mm on the floor and
wall.

11.

Allow to cure for 2 days.

12.

Carry out water testing by ponding the relevant area with water for 3 days (water
shall be supplied by the client / main contractor at the point of working)

13.

The client / main contractor shall lay cement sand protective screed (tile
bedding) on the waterproofing soon after water test is complete.
