Dear Ms. Kincaid,
It is my pleasure to inform you that you have met the initial requirements for our Touro
University Nevadas School of Occupational Therapy Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE) honor society
Alpha Pi - Nevada chapter! Eligible candidates are in the top 35% of their class in scholarship
and must have a GPA of at least 3.5 (4.0 scale) since entering the occupational therapy program.
The purposes of PTE are: 1) to recognize and encourage scholastic excellence of occupational
therapy students, 2) to contribute to the advancement of the field of occupational therapy through
the scholarly activities of student and alumni members, and 3) to provide a vehicle for students
enrolled in accredited programs in occupational therapy to exchange information and to
collaborate regarding scholarly activities. One goal of PTE Alpha Pi Nevada is to have an
annual alumni reception with guest speaker focused on scholarship. We have been fortunate to
have wonderful speakers during the past two years: Dr. Florence Clark (2012) and Dr. Erna
Blanche (2013).
To complete the application process the following items must be submitted to Dr. Yvonne
Randall by March 10, 2014.

A piece of scholarly written work, completed while enrolled in the occupational therapy
program, shall be submitted as evidence of the applicants ability.
A short essay (250 words) stating why you wish to join PTE.

Additional information regarding PTE can be located at the American Occupational Therapy
Foundation website: www.aotf.org. The initial meeting of the elect will take place prior to the
initiation ceremony. It is anticipated that the initiation ceremony will take place during the week
of March 17, 2014. The ceremony will begin at 5:00pm. At the time the initial meeting there will
be an election of officers and collection of initial membership dues ($75.00 includes induction
fee and dues).
