April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month in the United States, and Henry Schein is once again proud to be a supporting sponsor of the Oral Cancer Foundations efforts to encourage dental practices to serve as a first line of defense against oral cancer by conducting annual exams on all patients aged 18 and older. To promote the need for earlier detection of oral cancer, the Oral Cancer Foundation is again encouraging dental professionals to offer free oral screenings in their community for at least three hours on any day in April. For 2015, the Foundations goal is to set a new record for both participating practices and screenings. These free screenings can be a powerful tool to reduce the impact of oral cancer in your community and promote the health of your patients. Your participation can also be an excellent way to demonstrate to your community that you care about promoting the oral and systemic health of your patients. The Oral Cancer Foundation offers valuable materials to support your oral screening event, including patient brochures, coverage on its heavily-trafficked website, and tips on how to generate publicity for the event in your community. According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, the exams should involve palpation and visual inspection under white light, and could also be augmented by the use of an adjunctive screening device, such as the Identafi system. More information is available at http://oralcancerfoundation.org, and in the attached message from the Oral Cancer Foundation. For over a decade, Henry Schein has been committed to raising awareness about the importance of early detection of oral cancer. As the exclusive distributor of the Identafi screening device, we look forward to facilitating our customers ability to conduct these important oral cancer screenings for their patients. Together, we can have a powerful impact in fighting this disease. Sincerely,
