Central College is committed to providing quality programs to all individuals looking to further their
education. To service the particular needs of central Maryland residents, the annex campus, located in
Frederick, was opened to emphasize continued education degrees. The program is designed to allow
students academic flexibility around their work schedules and family commitments. The campus also
offers a full-time day care for the children of current students.
The structure of annex campus programs ensures students at the annex campus receive the same
educational opportunities available to main campus students. Students participate in a sophisticated
online network and interact with faculty at the Baltimore campus. Similar experiments in online
education have been modeled after this program because of its success for Central College students.

Remedial Education Program to Raise Education Standards

The Maryland Educational Research Foundation has selected Central College to participate in
an Early Support program that is expected to raise educational standards for Central College and
improve graduation rates in throughout Maryland. The college will develop education programs
to bring high school juniors and seniors deemed to be academically marginal up to college levels
academics. Students will attend classes developing reading, writing, math and computer skills in
interactive classrooms throughout Maryland. Central College has also agreed to accept and give
financial aid to students who perform satisfactorily in the program.

Dedication to the Baltimore Community

Central College was the first institution of higher education in the Baltimore area and today continues
its commitment to the community through service and involvement. All students are required to
participate in a minimum of 12 credit hours of approved community service activities prior to
graduation. These service projects must be undertaken within a 50 mile radius from the Central
College main campus in Baltimore.
