Lesson Outcome (related to course outcomes):
Student will critically evaluate role of multi-national corporations.

Lesson objectives:

Multi-nation

Corporations are through group discussion and explanation of

some concepts by me.

Motivation: (how are you going to engage the Ss in the topic?)

Time: 5 min
Materials required: Handout
Delivery method: (Teaching techniques: what will you do?)
I will show some visual images related to MNCs to know their previous
context on the topic.

Questions that are given below:

a.

While seeing these companies what definitions or characteristics

of MNCs come in your mind?

2. Do you have some ideas which are the top most MNCs?

I will give students time for 10 minutes to discuss with their

partners.

I will add to their previous knowledge regarding the role of MNCs.

What will the students do?

Students will read the questions on handouts, think about their

answers, discuss with their partner and respond to the questions.

Then I will show them international ranking of the MNCs as given in

following websites to increase their interest in the topic.

http://www.rankingthebrands.com/The-BrandRankings.aspx?rankingID=221&year=854
They will watch this and tell which is the top most and
which come after this.

Comprehension (what are the Ss going to learn?):

Time: 35 minutes
Materials required: handouts and PowerPoint slides
Delivery method: (techniques to teach the students/through what

method are they going to learn the new information?)

To explain the definition and positive and negative role of MNCs,

I will engage the students in Jigsaw activity. In part 1 of Jigsaw
activity I will form 5 groups of students in a class of 48 students.
In each group there will be 10 students.

Handout is divided into 5 parts and each group will be assigned

one part of the handout for discussion.

I will facilitate students in their discussion.

After their reading and discussion, I will ask members of each

group to explain what they have read and then I would clarify
further their concepts.

After this there will be 2nd part of jigsaw and new groups of
students will be formed with the same number in each group as
this was in 1st part of jigsaw.

They will be given their numbers on paper and asked to move in

the group according to their assigned number. For instance, all
students having No. 1 will be in one group.

In the second part of the jigsaw/group discussion, they will share

the information they have got after reading and discussing with
partners in their first groups during the first part of jigsaw during
their new partners in the second part of jigsaw.

After this, I will show them following videos.

What will the students do?

Students will read the content given in handouts and discuss it in

their groups for 15 minutes.

Each group of students will discuss with me whatever they have

understood about the concepts mentioned in the handout.

Afterward, students will watch videos.

Practice (students have the opportunity to practice what

theyve learned):
Time: 22 minutes
Materials required:
handouts :
Delivery method: (through what method are they going to practice
the new information?)
videos:
a. This video will be played 2 minutes and 48 secs.

Coca-Cola Hello Happiness by Coca-Cola

Instructions: Students will be given instructions before

watching

the video that they focus on which marketing strategy is used by

the company?

Students will be shown second video; its link is given below. Before
showing the video, students will be asked: focus on whats the
difference between the strategy of the first company and the
second company and then tell me this difference.

b.

What will the students do?

In groups, students will do peer teaching.

Through peer-teaching, they would practice what they have

seen

in the video and what they have learnt.

After this, student will play a game in the class.

Again 5 groups of student will be formed.
In this game questions related to glossary about the subject,

MNCs, will be asked by one student from each group.

Meanings of each word will be written on cards and student will not

see the cards. His peers will give him clues and he will try to answer
questions.

There will be points for each team.

What will the teacher do?

I will ask questions from students after their peer teaching.
How do you know the students have learned the new material?
(Do you have to go back to comprehension and teach more? Or do

they need more practice?)

After they answer some of the questions, I would be assured

that they have learnt something. Although this topic is taught in
the week 7 of semester, it has its different scope than the
previous topic; hence, I cant expect much from them that they
would answer all the questions in the class. The way they will
learn enable them to answer the questions but still I dont want
that they reproduce each and everything from the material.

I will encourage students to ask questions from me. I will put

them in groups and will make a list of their questions and will
ask these questions from the whole class to see if anyone can
answer before I answer. If any other student answers in the
class, after this I will elaborate once more in a simplified form
the same concept before the whole class.

While elaborating again I can replay the videos.

Or, if there are a few students that cannot understand, I will

teach them in groups or one-o-one basis after the class and
would ask them again to what extent they have grasped. I will
continue separate tutorials with them after the classes.

Accommodations required:
For one student in the class provision of taped lecture required.
