1.

Was the job shadow you completed the same career field you identified in
your career PowerPoint? If you completed the experience in another field,
explain why there was a need to change career fields. (i.e., I was not able to
set up a job shadow experience in my intended career field OR After taking a
closer look at the field, I found that I was more interested in)
My job shadow was not the same as my career powerpoint. I was
unable to do my career job shadow because my cousin works at night and
I had to do the job shadow in the morning because I had to work that
night.
2. As a result of your job shadow experience, are you still planning to pursue the
same career or has the experience led you in a new direction? Explain.
I am still planning on becoming a CRNA because its my dream job
and nothing can change that unless I let it.
3. During your job shadow, what skills did you observe that are needed to be
proficient at this career?
You need to have great communicating skills and empathy and
patience because people dont like needles and some people have
attitudes so you have to deal with things like that.
4. What activities and or duties did you like/dislike about the experience?
I like dealing with the patients and interacting with them but I didnt
like that I would have to take blood cause I still am a little scared
about seeing blood.
5. Do you see yourself doing this job for the duration of your working career?
(i.e., 15 to 20 years in the same field)
I do see myself doing this for a little while but I do want to move up
in the medical ladder sooner or later.
6. Aside from academic preparation in school, what are some other things that
you can do in order to prepare for your intended career field?
I could work on my attitude and volunteer at the hospital and
actually see what I will be doing and interact with some of the
patients and see what they like.
7. Is there any important tips and or advice you were given by your mentor
concerning your career field?
My mentor said I should take at least 10 minutes during work each
day and just relaxes because it can get overwhelming at times and
always show the patients that you care about them and do your best
to make them feel comfortable.
8. Considering everything you have learned, what is most invaluable lesson you
have learned from your job shadowing experience, and how will this help you
to move forward in your intended career field?
Ive learned that you will deal with a million different types of people
and attitudes but you have to remain positive and sane and this will

help me because one day a person could come in feeling mad at the
world and I have to deal with this or lose my job.
