Dear Tiff,
1am so excited to see where the next step will take you and the meaningful contributions you
will continue to makel It has been an honor to watch you develop as a professional in student
affairs. Your enthusiasm and constant attention to improvement have left a mark on Seattle
University, a mark that will not easily be replaced. There are many reasons why | am delighted
to write this letter of promise and | would summarize them with the following three words:
creativity, advocacy, and professionalism.
Creativity is an invaluable skill that you bring to your personal and professional life. You have a
keen ability to create visually welcoming spaces, an often overlooked aspect of student affairs
professionalism. Your office and approachable demeanor contribute to the trust and rapport
that you build with the students you work with. You have a strong care and concern for details,
realizing that even the small things matter. This has been a helpful reminder to me on many
occasions. Thank you for setting a strong example in this regard. | am also impressed with your
ability to design accessible and user friendly materials and websites, which has greatly
enhanced the student experience in our office. Your enthusiasm for branding, marketing, and
student-friendly resources will serve you well in the future. Your creative strengths have
enhanced resources for students and have also contributed to a consistent message at the
university level due to your deep connections at the institution.
| appreciate the strong voice and advocacy skills that you bring to your work. You came to SU
with a passion for supporting underserved populations. Your experiences at SU have developed
this passion further. Thank you for the questions that you raise and the work that you have
done to enhance and streamline the experience for students of all backgrounds. As a transfer
student, you brought insider knowledge to our advising and orientation processes, for example,
and | am grateful for your candid and constructive feedback. | know that your expertise was a
great asset at Wagner College during your internship as well and it was so wonderful to hear
the impact that this experience had on you.

understanding of student issues before making decisions and changes. You ask excellent
questions and rely on your network and colleagues well. | have been impressed by the breadth
of connections that you have made while in the program. | am very proud of your achievements,
and the depth of experiences that you have participated in during your graduate stu
eagerly participated in professional development opportunities near and far which furthered
your growth and development. From your leadership as the Internship and Networking Chair
for SUDSA to attending the NODA Regional Conference and Leadership Without Borders
Workshop to the amazing work that you have done on our website to moving across the
country for a summer internship experience to your work with Arts and Sciences students, the
list goes on to represent the diverse skill set and interest in learning that you bring to the table.
You will be such an asset in your next professional setting because of the variety of experiences
that you have enthusiastically participated in.

For all of the above reasons, |am envious of the future students that you will work with. You
set a wonderful example of what it means to be a caring and daring professional — what a
combination! As a double alumna of Seattle U, | am excited that you will be joining the SU
Alumni Community. | know that you will be a positive and supportive member that will
represent SU well.
