To whom it may concer,
Lam writing in full support of Hannah Mohammed, whom | had the pleasure of meeting
and guiding wien I started working as a classroom assistant for Ms, Jeanette Brown at the Altus
Charter School of San Diego, Hannah is a student whose intellect is deserving of recognition. I
first beeame aware of Hannah’s skills when I read her essays, which displays, not only her
insight, but her inclination to help others.
Hannah’s writing and communication skills show a sensitivity to the suffering of others.
tis important to note thet this sensitivity is not limited to words; Hannah is a devoted volunteer
at the Transition Age Youth Academy, an organization that helps San Diego youth by providing
a much needed support system. I’ve enjoyed reading her essays for her Study Skills class
because they show an insight beyond students of her age. Her willingness to fix and follow
through with writing corrections and suggestions also show that Hannah will make an
openminded and eager college student.
Hannah's volunteer experience, along with her work experience, make it clear that
Hannah exceedingly values her independence. As an academic coach in San Diego Mesa
College, I've met many college students whose lack of motivation and drive lead them to quit.
Hanna, on the other hand, possesses a will to achieve academic excellence. J believe this trait of
hhers braces her for the rigors of college education.
Hannah has expressed her interest in pursuing a BA in nursing and psychology. I believe
diving into either field will suit Hannah well because of her compassion and her understanding
of personal relations, Having faced family problems herself, Hannah—rather than be resentful—
seeks to better her relationships and situation. As an emancipated minor, Hannah faces more
responsibilities than her peers. Despite this, she has shown noteworthy independence and
maturity.
[believe Hannah is ideally prepared for college and to take on more rigorous eourses. I
hope that you will see the promise that I and the teachers at the Altus Charter School of San
Diego see in Hannah,
Cordially,
