External: In order to ensure communication with students, parents and the community, VMS
will disseminate information using the following communication tools

School website-maintained and updated regularly by our school Educational

Technologist- http://www.vice-ms.eu.dodea.edu/; Daily bulletin is embedded for
parents to see
Weekly AFN Radio program with information given by the school PAO representative,
Mr. Hanby. AFN broadcaster interviews Mr. Hanby about Vicenza School events on the
air weekly.
Weekly emails and Puma News Flash sent out to parents about school events
Monthly School Newsletter that contains articles focusing on students and school
events; includes a monthly activity calendar and lunch menu
Monthly Articles submitted to DSO newsletter about VMS students and faculty
Teacher and principal Weebly web pages accessible through the school website
Vicenza Community Schools Facebook page, established in January 2015 and updated
regularly
Emails, phone calls and meetings with parents from principal, teachers, and teams
Monthly interactive communications with parents:
SAC School Advisory Council-meets six times per year; led by parents and
faculty members
Town Hall Meetings held once per quarter jointly with the elementary and
high schools
Fireside Chats with the principal-held once per quarter; parents are invited
into the school to have coffee and chat with the principal
Semi-annual Parent-Teacher conferences held in November and April

Bi-monthly evening presentation at Base Welcome Meetings at Ederle Inn attended by

principal

Bi-monthly Board of Directors Meeting and Info-X meetings held by the local Command
and attended by school principals
Quarterly IAC meetings
Semi-Annual DAC meetings
Attendance at Command Sponsored Town Hall Meetings
Provide quarterly or bi-quarterly seminars for parents sponsored by FAP (topics: Online
Safety, Peer Relationships, Adolescent Development, Parenting Skills for Adolescents)
