I aspire to become a well sought after attorney. Presently, I am on track to graduate May 3, 2015 from University of Michigan-Flint with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Minor Degree in Argumentation and Advocacy in Communications Studies. I plan to attend law school in January 2016 to earn a Juris Doctorate specializing in either Criminal, Tort, or Intellectual Property law. What do I want to do with my career? I want to start my own law firm. I plan to advance my law experience through either being a Prosecuting Attorney, a Criminal Defense Attorney, or work for a prestigious law firm. I will utilize my education, wisdom, experience, and thorough knowledge of the law to help people obtain justice, as it relates to each situation that is entrusted to my law firm. I want to help the disenfranchised and disadvantaged in the community, by offering affordable legal representation that is ethical, strategic, and effective. After successfully accomplishing my goals, I plan to pursue a judiciary position to continue to serve my community in a positive manner. Why am I good/best at it? I am a good listener, empathetic, logical and have the ability to put arguments in a linear and precise format. I am analytical and strategic in my thinking. I am quick at picking up detailed information. I strive to be ethical in my actions and judgments. I have strong presentation and communication skills. Earning a great income is secondary to helping others. In the past, I studied small claims court processes by familiarizing myself with the various laws pertaining to litigation. As a result, I won several civil suits that I brought before the courts by presenting logically sound arguments. Consequently, those experiences provoked my interests in the field of Law. What are you involved in presently? Presently, I am in the process of creating a program that will assist cancer patients with improving their quality of life while in chemotherapy, by providing services designed to meet the unique needs of each person. As a cancer survivor, I am extremely passionate about this project and I would like to network with other groups that have similar goals. I am also in the process of constructing a business presentation that will showcase this project to potential partners and volunteers, rallying support for this effort. Additionally, I volunteer at The Genesee County Prosecutors Office, in the Criminal Sexual Conduct Department. I support the Assistant Prosecutor with preparing cases for trial. After a successful internship at the office in the fall of 2014, I was given the opportunity to continue to be mentored by the Assistant Prosecutor. This opportunity has allowed me to gain priceless on-thejob training experiences that will make me an asset to future employers.
