MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY

GROWING UP IN THE ALIS FAMILY

My early childhood years
was one that was filled with
excitement, fun and liming,
not forgetting schoolwork
and also lessons in standard
five. Weekends were going
to visit family, especially my
grandmother, I still visit her
now but just not as often. I
really enjoyed going to the
beach with my brother,
sister, parents and my
cousins, it usually was a big
lime.

As I start my journey through life I attended

the Warrenville Presbyterian Primary school.
Then in 1986 I was successful in passing my
Common Entrance Examination for the
school of my choice, Hillview College. At
that institution, I enjoyed playing football
and badminton during my lunch hour, even
some scooch on mornings, trying not to get
too sweaty for the morning periods.
Through some hard work and perseverance
I obtained my passes in my CXC and Alevel
subjects.

STARTED WORKING
1994 97: Accounts Clerk

Small private company

1997 2004 : Clerk

Service Commissions
Department
2004 present : Teacher

Cunupia Secondary School

After finishing my ALevels I applied to the

Ministry of Education for the position of teacher.
A good friend of mine working with me in
Service Commissions Department persuaded me
to start my Degree in Information Systems and
Management.
It has made a number of years I have been
dealing with members of the public and was still
awaiting a call from the Ministry of Education
about my teaching application. I thought to
myself that seeing I only have ALevels that the
Ministry probably didnt want me, so being
more qualified would then increase my chances
in getting through to the job that I have
wanted. After successfully completing my
Degree in 2002, while still working at Service
Commissions Department, I did eventually get
through to becoming a teacher in 2004.

MY FUTURE DREAMS AND PLANS

I hope that in the future I become a better teacher, parent and
spouse. I now believe that it is possible since I am learning
new ways to resolve conflict, adapt to changes in social
behaviour and accept students for who they are, not for what I
believe they should be. When I started teaching I was told by a
doctor teaching is a noble profession, I hold firm to that
view till today and hopefully till the end of my teaching
career.
I hope to impart some type of knowledge, understanding and
spark creativity on the minds of the students I come in contact
with over the span of my teaching career.
