Immunization is a means to create or improve ones immunity actively to a
particular disease, so that when he or she is to expose with that disease, he or she
will not get ill or only get mild illness. Immunization programs planned by
government especially to babies of 0-12 months are BCG, Hepatitis B, Pholio,
DPT, and measles.
This was an analytic observational research by using cross sectional approach.
Population was all mother with 1 year children and 162 babies in Karang Rejo
public health center in Metro in December 2013. 116 samples were taken using
purposive random sampling technique. Data were obtained with questionnaires to
respondents including education, knowledge, occupation, economy status, and
attitude. Data were analyzed using SPSS 16.0 software by using chi square test
with univariate and bivariate analysis with significant value of p-value < 0.05, and
trust interval of 95%.
The results showed that there were correlations of education (p-value=0.002;
OR=4.1, CI=95%), knowledge (p-value=0.000; OR=154, CI=95%), occupation
(p-value=0.000; OR=14.6, CI=95%), economy status (p-value=0.000; OR=41.5,
CI=95%), and attitude (p-value=0.000; OR=90.3, CI=95%) to immunization
