confuse with State of Palestine proclaimed on 15 November 1988 by Palestinian National Council (PNC) in
Algiers which remains a putative state, in fact ineffective despite partial international recognition.
8. Kazakhstan only became independent in 1991.
9. Kim Jong-un was referred to as 'supreme leader' in 2011, and then appointed as First Chairman of the National
Defence Commission in 2012, having been the de facto leader of the country throughout.
