reaksi molisch, terbentuknya cincin coklat. Hasil positif pada uji benedict, sampel berubah
menjadi warna merah bata.

abstrac
Carbohydrates are the main energy source of living organisms and the carbon source for the
synthesis of biomolecules and as a polymeric form of energy. Carbohydrates are composed of
the elements, there are carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O). Arrangement of atoms,
chain length, and the type of bonding in carbohydrates used for classification of
carbohydrates. The purpose of this experiment is to identify the presence of a carbohydrate in
the sample. The sample that we used in this experiment was agarose, Na-CMC, PGA, lactose,
starch, sucrose, and glucose. In this experiment we used 4 different metodes, there are
reaction Molisch, Benedict test, Barfoed test, and Seliwanoff test. Positive results of molisch
reaction, the samples brown ring formation. Postive results of benedict test, the sample turns
into a brick red. Positive results in barfoed test, the sample turns into red. Positive results of
seliwanoff reaction, the sample turns into orange.
