One-Hour Technology Workshop

ITEC 7460 Professional Learning & Technology Innovation, Spring 2015
Evaluation Narrative
The primary evaluation tool used for this workshop was the one-hour workshop
survey created in Google Forms. The survey was included on the workshop Weebly
website for all participants to complete. The secondary evaluation tool used for the
workshop was informal observations of participants during the Google Classroom
workshop as well as during the week after the workshop.
To view the responses to the evaluation survey, click the Evaluation Survey link
on the workshop Weebly website. Click the Survey Results link to find the survey
responses located in a spreadsheet. Overall, the ten participants evaluated the instructor,
on a scale of 1-5 (with 5 being the highest), with an average of 5 Knew Topic Very
Well. All participants indicated the instructor was prepared for the workshop as well as
rating his or her overall workshop experience as Fabulous.
During the practice/hands-on learning portion of the Google Classroom
workshop, the instructor was able to observe the participants in action of what was being
taught. The instructor modeled how to initially set up the Google Classroom, post notes,
assignments and uploading files onto the Google Classroom stream. As the participants
began to practice, the instructor observed that none of them had any trouble with those
tasks. Halfway through the workshop, the instructor again modeled how to create a quiz
or test in Google Forms. During the practice session for quiz creation, the instructor
noticed a few participants had a bit of trouble when creating questions that required a

picture or a graph. The instructor then went back to the interactive whiteboard projection
screen to model how to insert a picture or a graph to specific questions on a Google
Form. In the days/weeks after the Google Classroom workshop, the instructor observed a
few of the participants with their Google Classroom set-up. All participants of the
workshop have their Classroom up and running with no problems. It is evident that the
participants learned from the workshop.
