Personal Philosophy of Nursing

I believe that to be a successful nurse one must be able to apply knowledge that protects,
promotes and enhance the holistic health states of all persons. Nurses also must sustain an ever
increasing knowledge base to allow for changes and improvements to the health care system. Patient
respect, advocacy, honesty and privacy are also important in building trust between nurse client and
families. I also believe in team work, effective communication, collaboration with inter- professional
members, patient and family members to foster understanding and encourage involvement in planning
and participation across the continuum of care.
