The iconic Rosie the

Riveter poster along with


her key catch phrase, We
can do it!, helped
empower American women
during World War II.
Obviously the image shown
has been altered for a more
current political issue. The
classic Rosie is now donned in a traditional Arab
Niqab, a type of headscarf and a new phrase has
been added in. This illustration is referring to the
protests of women in Saudi Arabia for the right to
drive. I chose this specific image to show how the
women of the Middle East are now using
propaganda to help them fight against the sexist
laws of their countries. The new Rosie represents
the strength of these women and it urges them to
continue to demand equality.
