PDLM-SYLLABUS

Having A Balanced Classroom with the use of Edmodo


Prerequisites: You must have an Edmodo account presently ready, you must know how to
use Edmodo on the beginner level. If you do not reach these qualifications please take my
Edmodo Taking over the Traditional Classroom Workshop.

Course Goal: Provide Edmooligans ( A user of Edmodo) with strategies of how to have a
balanced classroom using Edmodo. Provide an Edmodo group page which will provide
collaboration and resources for our group.

Description: So you have an Edmodo account? Now what do I do with it? This class will
introduce or re-introduce what a balanced classroom is and how Edmodo can be the key
ingredient to your balanced classroom. Educators will be presented with presentatons, video
clips and a view of my archived classes..

All assignments will be done here.


All assignments are due in the given time frame.
Even though this class is 30 minute session, to earn the 1 PLU ( Professional
Learning Unit) you must complete todays session and log-in to the group page for
the remainder of the course ( 2 days).
Per day you must answer the discussion question and submit your assignments.
All assignments are due at 12am Eastern Time and will lock.

Objectives:

Edmooligans will review balanced classroom and how it differs from traditional and
flipped
Edmooligans will view an archived group and explore the features of edmodo
Edmooligans will follow the simple steps of having a successful edmodo group

National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers ( NETS*T) All classroom teachers
should be prepared to meet these performance standards.

work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.

PROMOTE AND MODEL DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITY: Teachers
understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture
and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices.
5)
ENGAGE IN PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND LEADERSHIP: Teachers continuously
improve their professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in their
school and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of
digital tools and resources.

BrainStorm Scenario: Scenarios will be provided for edmooligans to give ideas of how
to change a traditional classroom method into a balanced method using edmodo
On Edmodo Group Page Assignments will be posted for you to complete
Edmodo Group Page Discussion, discussion questions will be provided a response is
required
Wrap-up Students will use a Poll featured on Edmodo providing suggestions and
additional comments to instructor

Instructor and Edmooligan Expectations:


Edmooligans are expected to complete all assignments by the due date. You must regularly
check for announcements and communicate with fellow edmooligans using proper digital
etiquettes. The instrtor will communicate frequently with edmooligans via edmodo.
Instructor will respond to any comments, questions in atleast 24 hours. The instructor will
monitor all discussions , questions, and responses. Any violation of the digital ettiqutes per
the instructors discretion will result in being dismissed from the group and no credit will be
