These charts above show pre/post assessment data for each chapter of my
unit. In chapter 10, there were nine students that did not meet the minimum
goal of 80% or better. There were two students that met the goal and 17
students that exceeded the goal. In chapter 11, there were three students
that did not meet the goal. There was one student who met the goal and 22
students that exceeded the goal. In chapter 12, there were three students
that did not meet the goal. There was one student who met the goal and 21
students who exceeded the goal.

The importance of understanding the learning of these three students is to

help me as a teacher to make accommodations and changes to lessons in
order to best reach each student. This is also important because it shows me
what style of teaching works best with each student so that I can best reach
them. I will also need to analyze these students in order to see where they
stand in the class and overall in their grade.
Qualitative
The high student made huge improvements from their pre to post
assessments. This student is autistic and is very attentive in class. He is
given a different test than the rest of the students, because it is in his IEP.
During the lessons, he would participate and answer questions correctly. He
also worked well with his group members when they had a group activity. He
is very particular about his notes and has to have everything perfect in order
to go home and study.
My average student made small improvements on two of the assessments
and a large gain on one. She is very smart, pays attention in class and
participates. She completes homework and asks questions if she does not
understand. When she is grouped her friends, she tends to talk a lot more
than if she is not grouped with her friends. This sometimes causes her to
deter others from their work and they often miss out on important things, but
she still gets it.
I did not expect my low student to perform as low as she did, but it was not a
surprise. She rarely participates in class, she does not ask questions and she
does not take advantage of the study materials. When she is with her
friends, she talks a lot and it causes her to miss out on parts of the lesson. I
have extended my help to her by offering to go over things she does not
understand before school, but she has yet to take advantage of that offer.
She enjoys hands-on activities and when we were doing those she did well.
