Horizons pgs 172-183: TW guide students through textbook pages, while students read
aloud. SW take information from what has been read to fill into their note pages. SW
discuss reasons for secessions (Nat Turner, Abolitionists, Harriet Tubman, John Brown,
Abraham Lincoln).

Day 1

Criteria: With guidance, students will orally discuss reasons for secession and
fill in their note pages with 100% accuracy.

Read about Ferry Farm- In Horizons Textbook (pg. 94-95), SW read about George
Washingtons childhood in preparation for their field trip tomorrow.

information on important Civil War)
