Red Hot Readers is a community-wide reading initiative that involves all


stakeholders. During the month of March, students are challenged to read
at least 500,000 minutes outside the school day. If this goal is met, the
principal is challenged to a student-themed fun consequence. This
institutionalized, award-winning program has been a part of VES history
since 1988.
