INFORMATION
Directly after Samantha graduated from St. John State College
with her bachelors degree in education she was offered a
teaching position at Middleton Burney. Since graduating she has
had two years of teaching experience and is a first grade teacher
at Middleton Burney Elementary. Both years of teaching have
taken place at Middleton Burney in first grade. While teaching
Samantha Is attending grad school to further her education.
Next year Samantha hopes to move to teaching in the third
grade class room.

T Y P I C A L D AY I N T H E C L A S S R O O M
The students start the morning off with reading. Reading

lessons and activities are covered until the kids go to lunch and
when the kids return to the classroom after lunch I begin
teaching math. The math activities and lessons are covered until
it is time for the students to enjoy specials. Specials consist of
music, P.E. and computer lab throughout the week. When the
kids return from specials we end the day with science and social
studies until it is time for the students to pack up and go home.

TECHNOLOGY USED IN THE

CLASSROOM
The technology that I
use most in the classroom
is Google Chrome Books,
SmartBoard, Gonoodle.com
and I do a read aloud while
the students follow along
with visuals shown on the
computer screen.

- My favorite
technology to use with
the kids in the classroom
is Gonoodle.com because
it is comical while great
for the students to wind
down and help them
enjoy the classroom
more.

Honestly the only difficulties that I have

encountered using technology are that the internet
connection is poor sometimes, and being that the
students are so young the log in information and
navigating can be difficult.

My favorite lesson to integrate technology in is
when doing a read along. I love doing read alongs
with the students while they follow along with
visuals provided on the screen in front of them. I
have noticed that it keeps them very interested and
they are able to consume more information this
way.
